Hawaii Courts Australian Visitors on Facebook

Sharing aloha with Australians on Facebook

Hawaii Tourism Oceania has launched a social media initiative targeting the Australian traveller. Aloha DownUnder, is the new Facebook project developed to engage with local travellers.

“Globally, Hawaii Tourism has had a presence in the social media space, however we are pleased to be able to provide relevant news and updates for Australian travellers through this platform,” said Helen Williams, Country Manager of Hawaii Tourism Oceania.

The Aloha DownUnder page on Facebook has 176 fans as of this writing.

Just last month, Hawaii Tourism Oceania announced that over 54,000 Australians visited Hawaii in the first half of this year, a 32 percent increase over the same period in 2009.

“Aloha Down Under” is also the name of a road show for travel professionals that toured through Australia in early May.
